Getting Started
What is ClawGo?
ClawGo is a plug-and-play AI device powered by OpenClaw, designed to work out of the box with no setup or maintenance. It turns a complex AI system into an always-on assistant you can use instantly.
Is ClawGo the same as OpenClaw?
No. OpenClaw is a framework for building AI agents, while ClawGo is a finished product built on top of it. ClawGo adds a ready-to-use system, built-in voice and camera interaction, and removes the need for setup or ongoing management.
How does ClawGo differ from ChatGPT?
ChatGPT is designed for conversations — you ask, it responds.
ClawGo is a dedicated device that is designed for action — it can run continuously, handle tasks over time, and interact through voice and camera as a real-world assistant.
Can ClawGo work without a computer?
Yes. ClawGo is a standalone device and does not rely on a laptop or desktop to operate.
What can I do with ClawGo?
Natural Dialogue
Interact with ClawGo via voice (real-time transcription) or text, just like chatting with a human assistant for instant answers or brainstorming.
Multimodal Vision
Use the built-in camera to capture photos or videos and let AI identify objects, translate signs, summarize documents, or explain the scene in front of you.
Document Intelligence
Upload and process formal files such as PDFs or Word documents for deep analysis, core summaries, or specific data extraction.
Proactive Assistance
ClawGo is more than reactive; it actively pushes schedule reminders, task completion notifications, and daily information briefings based on your needs.
Physical Shortcuts (Joystick)
Use the physical Joystick for eye-free operation: a single click starts voice typing, and a double click quickly opens the camera.
Personal Asset Archiving
Easily archive images, videos, and other important documents from your chats into "Local Files" for quick secondary access, management, or export.
How to make ClawGo part of my daily routine?
Integrating ClawGo into your life is about letting it handle the "how" so you can focus on the "what" Here’s a typical daily flow:
Morning Briefings
Start your day by checking Active Push notifications. Let ClawGo give you a summary of your schedule, reminders, and important information updates so you’re prepared before you even pick up your phone.
Seamless Idea Capture
Throughout the day, use voice-type a thought or double-click to snap a photo of something interesting. It's the fastest way to "save" real-world info into your AI's memory.
Focus-Mode Productivity
When working, transfer long PDFs or documents to ClawGo. Let it analyze and summarize these materials in the background, keeping your main screen clutter-free and your mind focused on execution.
Active Reminders
Don’t just set alarms; give ClawGo "missions." Tell it to remind you of specific tasks or follow up on certain information. Let its Active Touch principle keep you on track without you needing to manually check a list.
Daily Review & Archiving
Before ending your day, visit Local Files to review the images, videos, and summaries you’ve archived. It's your personal knowledge base, organized and ready for you whenever you need it.
How can I talk to ClawGo more effectively?
Talking to ClawGo is different from using traditional software. Follow these principles for the best experience:
Focus on Goals, Not Skills
You don't need to know which "skill" to use. Simply describe your goal (e.g., "Help me organize these notes" instead of "Use the document tool"). ClawGo's AI will handle the underlying logic.
Be Descriptive
The more context you provide in your natural language, the better the AI understands. Treat it like a human assistant.
Iterate Through Dialogue
If the first response isn't perfect, don't give up—just talk back! Ask for adjustments or clarifications. The "soul" of ClawGo resides in its ability to refine its understanding through ongoing conversation.
Subscription
Why is there a subscription fee after the trial?
ClawGo depends on ongoing AI model access, infrastructure, and system updates. The subscription ensures the system continues to run reliably and improves over time.
Will my credits stay if I switch accounts on a device?
Yes, your credits belong to your account! Since credits are account-based, the balance you see on your ClawGo device will always reflect your account currently signed in. If you unlink an account on a device and sign into another account, the device will simply show the credits available for that specific account.
Can I share my account's credits across my devices?
Yes. Credits are account-based and shared across all devices linked to your account. Any interaction on one device will deduct from your total account balance, ensuring a seamless experience across your entire ClawGo ecosystem.
What happens if I run out of credits?
To keep the conversation going, ClawGo requires a positive credit balance. If the credits become negative, you won't be able to send or receive messages. You can always check your remaining balance and your current plan under the Credit page on your device.
How to add credits to my account?
You can add credits from official website. Go to clawgo.com, click the Subscription, and click Top-Up. From there, you can choose the credit pack that fits your needs. You can also upgrade your subscription plan if you want more credits included every month.
Account
Can I switch customer accounts?
Currently, switching accounts directly on the ClawGo device is not supported. If you need to change the account associated with your device, please contact our support team via email at support@clawgo.com, and we will assist you with a manual process.
Can I use the same account on more than one device?
No. Currently, each ClawGo account can only be linked to one dedicated device. To ensure the best personalized AI experience and data security, we maintain a 1-to-1 relationship between your account and your hardware.
Can I unlink my account from this device?
Unlinking your account cannot be performed directly through the device interface at this time. For security reasons and to ensure your data is handled correctly, please contact our support team at support@clawgo.com to assist you with the unlinking process.
Device & Controls
What can Joystick do?
The joystick is a shortcut for quick actions on ClawGo. By default, press once to start voice typing and press again to stop, or press twice to quickly open the camera. It’s designed to help you access common actions faster without going through extra steps.
Can I change what the Joystick does?
The joystick shortcuts are currently set by default and can’t be customized at this time. You can use the preset actions to quickly start voice typing or open the camera. If customization becomes available in the future, the relevant settings will be introduced in a system update.
Why did the Joystick trigger the wrong action?
If the joystick triggered a different action than expected, it was likely caused by the press count or timing being recognized differently, or by an accidental press while handling the device. Try pressing the joystick with a clear, steady rhythm and avoid unintended contact during use.
Data & Privacy
What happens to my data if I switch accounts?
Switching accounts changes the AI's cloud identity but keeps the device's local history. Your past chats and files will remain on the device. To remove this local data, you must manually perform a "Reset ClawGo" in the Settings menu.
What happens to my data if I reset the device?
Performing a "Reset ClawGo" clears all localized records from the hardware, including chat history, settings, and files stored in the device's memory. However, as long as your account is not deleted or switched, your Cloud Data remains intact. Your AI "remembers" your past interactions in its cloud memory, though these previous records will no longer be visible on the device screen.

When and how should I use Backup & Restort?
What is Backup & Restore?
A backup is a saved copy of your OpenClaw agent’s previous state, including its setup, configuration, and working status.
Restore means returning your OpenClaw agent to one of those saved backup versions.
Backup & Restore helps you recover your OpenClaw agent when recent changes cause unexpected behavior, so you can go back to an earlier working state instead of setting everything up again from scratch.
When and why should I use Restore Backup?
Use Restore Backup when your OpenClaw agent worked better before, or when recent changes caused unexpected behavior.
You may want to restore a backup when:
- OpenClaw’s behavior changed after recent setup or configuration changes.
- A skill, workflow, or agent setting no longer works as expected.
- You want to return to a previous working version of your OpenClaw agent.
How do I create or restore a backup?
Restoring a backup will roll OpenClaw back to the selected backup version.
Option 1:
From the Chat page
Step 1
On the Chat page, tap the icon in the upper-right corner to open Backup & Restore.
Step 2
To create a new backup, tap New Backup.
Step 3
To restore an existing backup, choose the backup version you want to restore.
Step 4
Confirm and wait for the process to complete.
Option 2:
From Settings
Step 1
Tap the Menu icon in the upper-left corner.
Step 2
Go to Settings.
Step 3
Select Backup & Restore.
Step 4
To create a new backup, tap New Backup.
Step 5
To restore an existing backup, choose the backup version you want to restore.
Step 6
Confirm and wait for the process to complete.
What is Reset OpenClaw?
Reset OpenClaw removes the current OpenClaw agent from this ClawGo device and returns the OpenClaw environment on this device to its initial state.
It clears the local OpenClaw setup, configuration, and running state, so you can start over with OpenClaw on this device.
When and why should I reset OpenClaw?
Use Reset OpenClaw when you want to set up OpenClaw again from the beginning, or when the current OpenClaw agent is no longer usable.
You may want to reset OpenClaw when:
- You want to set up OpenClaw again from the beginning.
- The current OpenClaw agent is no longer usable.
- You are troubleshooting OpenClaw and restoring a backup does not solve the issue.
This may happen for several reasons.
For example, OpenClaw may behave unexpectedly after switching to a new model, installing or updating certain skills, or accumulating too many local configurations, files, memories, or temporary states over time. In these cases, resetting OpenClaw can help clear the current local setup and give you a clean starting point.
How do I reset OpenClaw?
Reset OpenClaw removes the OpenClaw agent from this device and clears the local OpenClaw configuration and running state.
Option 1:
From the Chat page
Step 1
On the Chat page, tap the icon in the upper-right corner to open Backup & Restore.
Step 2
Tap Reset OpenClaw at the bottom of the page.
Step 3
Confirm and wait for the reset to complete.
Option 2:
From Settings
Step 1
Tap the Menu icon in the upper-left corner.
Step 2
Go to Settings.
Step 3
Select Backup & Restore.
Step 4
Tap Reset OpenClaw at the bottom of the page.
Step 5
Confirm and wait for the reset to complete.
When may backup fail?
Backup may fail when your ClawGo cloud disk has used more than 25GB of storage.
This does not always mean backup will fail, but once your cloud storage becomes too large, there is a higher chance that backup operations may not complete successfully.
What should I do if backup fails because of cloud storage?
First, try cleaning up unnecessary files.
You can tell OpenClaw: “List my files.”
OpenClaw can help you review what files are stored, and you can work with ClawGo to remove content you no longer need, such as photos, videos, documents, or other large files.
This is the recommended first step before resetting anything.
What if my cloud storage is already full?
If your cloud storage is full and cleaning up files does not solve the issue, you may choose to reset OpenClaw.
Reset OpenClaw will restore OpenClaw to its factory state. This means OpenClaw will lose its current memories, configurations, and working context.
Use this only when you want to start over with OpenClaw, or when backup and cleanup no longer solve the issue.
Will my local files still remain after resetting OpenClaw?
If you reset OpenClaw only and do not reset the ClawGo device itself, files previously saved locally on your device will still remain there.
However, OpenClaw will no longer have the corresponding memory or context about those files.
IMPORTANT: If you also reset the ClawGo device, your local files and local chat history will be cleared from the device. This follows the same logic as the original Reset OpenClaw / Reset Device explanation: resetting OpenClaw clears the OpenClaw agent state, while resetting the device clears local chat history and files.
<IMPORTANT />
After you reset OpenClaw, your local chat history may still remain on the device. However, OpenClaw will no longer have the corresponding memory or context behind those previous chats.
If it feels confusing to keep old chat records after resetting OpenClaw, you can fully reset the ClawGo device after reset OpenClaw. Go to Settings → My Device → Reset Device to restore ClawGo to factory settings. This will clear all local chat history and files from the device.

How to talk to ClawGo, ask better questions, give useful context, and help AI understand you.
The simple rule: talk to ClawGo like a capable personal assistant, a real person. Tell it what you want, why you need it, and what the final answer should look like.
Start with your goal, not the feature
You do not need to know which skill, tool, or function to use. Describe the outcome you want, and let ClawGo handle the rest.
| Less effective | Better |
|---|---|
| Use the document tool on this PDF. | Read this PDF and summarize the key conclusions and action items. |
| Open image recognition. | Look at this photo and tell me what it is, what it means and anything I should notice. |
Troubleshooting Tips
ClawGo gives better answers when it understands the situation. Useful context includes the audience, purpose, tone, key details, constraints, and what you care about most.

- Give Me A 3-Step Plan.
- Turn This Into A Checklist.
- Start With The Conclusion, Then Explain Why.
- Explain This In Simple Language For A Beginner.
- Rewrite This In A Friendly But Professional Tone.
Add A Short Instruction When Sending Images, Files, Or Recordings
When You Attach Something, Tell ClawGo What To Do With It. A File Or Photo Plus One Clear Sentence Is Usually Enough.
- This Is A Contract. Find The Risks And Important Clauses.
- This Is A Product Photo. Identify What It Is And Explain How To Use It.
- This Is A Meeting Recording. Turn It Into Meeting Notes And Action Items.
- This Is A PDF. Summarize It For Someone Who Is Not Technical.
Improve The Answer Through Follow-Up
You Do Not Need To Get The Perfect Result In One Message. If The Answer Is Close But Not Right, Tell ClawGo How To Adjust It.
- Make It Shorter.
- Make The Tone Warmer.
- Add Examples.
- Focus Only On The Action Items.
- Turn This Into A Checklist.
- Explain It More Simply.
Example Flow: “Write A Message Asking My Client For An Update.” → “Make It Shorter And Softer.” → “Keep The Meaning, But Make It Sound More Natural.”
Ask ClawGo To Help When You Are Unsure
You Do Not Need To Have A Fully Formed Request. ClawGo Can Help You Clarify Your Thinking, Compare Options, And Decide What To Do Next.
- I Am Not Sure How To Start. Ask Me A Few Questions, Then Help Me Make A Plan.
- I Cannot Decide Between These Two Options. Compare Them And Tell Me What Information Is Missing.
- These Notes Are Messy. Organize Them Into A Clear Project Brief.

When the task matters, use this structure:
I want to [goal]
The context is [background].
Please focus on [important points].
Format it as [output format].
Use a [tone/style] tone.
Example:
I want to prepare for a client meeting. The client is unhappy about delays. Please focus on key talking points, possible questions, and calm responses. Format it as a checklist. Use a professional tone.
Quick Examples You Can Say To ClawGo
- Summarize This File And Keep Only Conclusions And Action Items.
- Look At This Image And Tell Me What It Means.
- Make This Message Shorter, Clearer, And More Polite.
- Write A Professional Email To My Client, But Do Not Make It Too Formal.
- Organize These Ideas Into A Clear Plan.
- Compare These Two Choices And Give Me Pros, Cons, Risks, And Your Recommendation.
- Remind Me Tomorrow At 9 AM To Send This File.
- This Explanation Is Too Complex. Explain It Like I Am New To The Topic.
Remember
You Do Not Need To Speak In A Technical Way. To Get Better Results, Simply Make These Three Things Clear:
- What You Want To Do.
- What The Context Is.
- What You Want The Result To Look Like.
The clearer your goal, context, and expected output are, the better ClawGo can understand and help you. As you continue to use and train ClawGo through everyday interactions, it will better understand your habits, preferences, and needs — making it smarter, more personalized, and more helpful over time.
Fix it when ClawGo gets it wrong
How to correct AI answers, ask follow-up questions, and guide ClawGo step by step
ClawGo may not always get everything right on the first try. That is normal. The fastest way to fix an answer is not to start over, but to tell ClawGo what is wrong, what the correct information is, and how you want the answer revised.
1. Point out what is wrong
Be specific. ClawGo can improve much faster when it knows exactly which part needs to change.
| Instead of | Try |
|---|---|
| This is wrong. | The deadline is wrong. The correct deadline is Friday. |
| Try again. | You missed the customer impact. Please add that and rewrite the summary. |
2. Give the correct information
If ClawGo used the wrong name, date, fact, audience, or context, correct it directly.
- The meeting is on Wednesday, not Monday. Please update the message.
- The audience is a customer, not an internal team. Make it more polished.
- This is about product feedback, not technical support. Please summarize it again with that context.
3. Ask a clear follow-up
You do not need to repeat your whole request. Just ask ClawGo to revise the previous answer based on your correction.
- Please try again with this correction.
- Keep the same structure, but fix the inaccurate parts.
- Rewrite it using the correct information.
- Update your previous answer based on what I just said.
4. Fix complex answers step by step
For longer tasks, correct one part at a time. This works well for summaries, writing, planning, and document review.
- First, fix the summary.
- Now add the missing action items.
- Next, make the tone more friendly.
- Finally, shorten it to five bullet points.
5. Ask ClawGo to check itself
If you are unsure whether the answer is accurate, ask ClawGo to review its own response and state what it is assuming.
- Check your answer again and look for possible mistakes.
- What information are you assuming here?
- Which parts are you unsure about?
- List what you know and what still needs confirmation.
Useful correction examples
- That is not what I meant. I want a shorter version for a text message.
- The name is incorrect. It should be Alex, not Alice. Please rewrite it.
- You focused too much on the background. Focus on next steps instead.
- This sounds too serious. Make it warmer and more natural.
- The answer is missing the risks. Add a short risk section.
- Please redo this as a checklist.
Simple correction template
| Step | What to say |
|---|---|
| 1. Correct it | This part is wrong: [what is wrong]. The correct information is: [correct information] |
| 2. Revise it | Please redo it as: [format, tone, or style] |
Example: This part is wrong: the meeting is not on Monday. The correct information is: the meeting is on Wednesday at 2 PM. Please rewrite the message in a polite and concise tone.
Remember
ClawGo gets better when you guide it. If the first answer is not right, correct the mistake, add the missing context, and ask it to try again. Over time, ClawGo will better understand how you think, what you prefer, and how to help you more effectively.
